The latest addition to my knitting samplers is this antique one made by G.V. You find the initials on the top left. On the front and back you see the places where she needed new thread.
The sampler has a length of 209 inches !

Het lijkt veel op de breirol van mijn moeder,die was ook vele meters lang maar wel afgewerkt.

Prachtig en zeker erg lang.
A very long beautiful sampler. I also wanted to make crochet stitch and embroidery samplers. But long samplers - for what purpose will it be useful. That thinking stops me from making long sampler and now If I make some stitch samplers I try to convert it into small wall hangings. What will you do with these samplers?
@Long samplers are often made in this country. We use them for decoration purposes and it is just fun to make and learn new stitches.
