Dit blok komt nog een keer in de quilt voor, maar dan met tekst en andere luiken. Dit moet het dorpje bij nacht voorstellen.
Alle blokken hebben nu sashings. Ik heb een achtergrondstof, maar ben er nog steeds niet over uit of het hem wordt.

You see this block twice in the quilt. The other one has a text and other shutters. This is the village by night.
All blocks have sashings. I do have a background fabric, but do I want to use it for this quilt ?

Eén van de laatste blokken van the French Collection heeft nu ook sashings. Dit blok heeft wel erg mooie knoopjes !

One of the last blocks of The French Collection has got sashings. This block has such beautiful buttons !

Centre Ville

Zo'n straat met een mevrouw met hoofddoekje en stok, ik hou er van. Ik herken ook het beeld en het doet met heel sterk aan Frankrijk denken.

een Frans terras

Het Franse terras doet heerlijk denken aan de zomer. Heel anders dan de werkelijkheid. In Zuidoost Frankrijk is de afgelopen dagen erg veel regen gevallen en ik zie foto's van wateroverlast en kolkende rivieren.

This French terrace reminds me of the summer. The reality is different. Much rain has fallen lately in the South-east of France. I see pictures of floodings and swirling rivers.

Eau de Parfum

Het blijft leuk al die blokken weer eens door je handen te laten gaan, nu met sashings. 

It gives me soo much fun admiring these blocks again, now with sashings.

Brocante stitchery

En ook "de brocante" heeft een sashing. Dit blok heeft wel erg leuke knoopjes.

The Brocante also has got sashings. I do love the buttons on this block. 

de brug naar de kerk

Ook de brug die voert naar de kerk heeft sashings. 
Met de kerk maak ik "het bruggetje" naar Allerzielen, vandaag 2 november,  en denk aan mijn ouders die niet meer bij ons zijn.

The bridge that leads us to the church has sashings.
Looking at the church I think of 'All Souls Day', today the 2nd of November and I think of my parents that are no longer with us.

de Franse markt

De blokken veranderen echt heel erg met een sashing er omheen. Ik heb in Frankrijk achtergrondstof gekocht, maar nu twijfel ik weer of hij niet te druk is. Het is ook altijd wat !

The blocks really change a lot with a sashing around them. I bought background fabric in France, but now I have my doubts. Is it not too busy ? There is always something.

druiven

Tijdens ons laatste verblijf in het zuiden van de Drôme provençale merkten we net als voorgaande jaren dat de wijnoogst langzaam aan opschuift naar voren. 
Bij ons in de streek weinig of geen groene druiven, maar meest rode.
Het fijne van de herfst is dat je de wijnbladeren langzaam ziet verkleuren. Een prachtig gezicht.

During our latest stay in the south of the Drôme provençale (France) we noticed that over the last years the harvest of grapes is earlier. 
In our area you almost see no green grapes, mostly red ones.
The great thing about autumn is that you see the vine leaves slowly discolor. A beautiful sight.

Vier blokken van The French Collection zijn wat kleiner en dit is er één van. Het leuke knoopje maakt echter veel goed.

Four blocks of The French Collection are a bit smaller and this is one of them, but look at the nice button.

Een beetje raar, maar dit blok komt twee keer voor in de quilt. Je hebt de nacht- en de dagversie, maar er zit weinig verschil in. Dit is de dagversie.

A bit strange but this block appears two times in the quilt. We have a night and a day version. They are almost the same. This is the day version.

kerktoren

Ik denk niet dat Robyn Allen Waters, de ontwerpster van The French Collection, het torentje van Montségur sur Lauzon, het plaatsje waar wij zeer regelmatig zijn, voor ogen had, maar wat een gelijkenis !

I do not think Robyn Allen Waters, designer of The French Collection, used the steeple of Montségur sur Lauzon, a place we visit a lot, as an example, but there are hardly any differences.

charcuterie

Ik val misschien in herhaling, maar het is voor mij zo leuk weer met deze blokken bezig te zijn. Ze veranderen ook zo met een sashing er omheen.

I may repeat myself, but is so nice to be busy with these blocks again. They do change with a sashing around them.

Vandaag het tweede blok van The French Collection. Als ik het me goed herinner was dit ooit het eerste blok dat ik maakte.

Today I show you the second block of The French Collection. If I remember well it was my first block I made of this series.

Ik keek in de rechter kolom van mijn blog bij "The French Collection" en zag dat lang niet alle blokken erin staan. Het is een klein werkje, maar minstens iedere week krijgt een blok sashings en laat ik dat ook zien.
Voor mij echt weer genieten!
Ik begin met de patissier.

I looked in the right column of my blog under " French Collection" and missed a lot of blocks. Not much to do, but I will post at least once a week a block including the sashings.

weer eens verder

Het is al weer een hele tijd geleden dat ik aan de blokken van The French Collection werkte. Ik moest zelfs het stof er vanaf halen.
Vorige maand vond ik in Frankrijk een leuke stof voor tussen de blokken (bovenaan links) en gisteren vond ik bij Quilt Studio Het Gooi de perfecte stof (bovenaan rechts, in het echt wat lichter) voor de sashings. 
Nu maar eens kijken hoe ik de blokken ga rangschikken, want ooit waren de patronen van de blokken te koop, maar nooit het patroon voor een hele quilt.

It has been a long time since I worked on the blocks of The French Collection. I had to remove the dust from them.
Last month in France I found the background fabric ( left top corner) and yesterday I bought the perfect fabric (top right corner, in real the colour is not so dark) for the sashings at Quilt Studio Het Gooi. 
Now it is arranging the blocks. In the past the blocks could be bought, but there was never a pattern for a total quilt.

En nu.....
De knoopjes zitten op het laatste blok.
Vijftien stitcheries, 11 grote en 4 kleine, maakte ik de afgelopen jaren. Ze zijn af. Er bestaat geen patroon van een bijbehorende quilt. Op internet zag ik twee quilts gemaakt met deze blokken, maar mij te statisch. Ik wil geen blokken keurig op een rij.
Dat wordt schuiven en hard nadenken !

And now....

I have added buttons to the last block.
Over the years I made 15 stitcheries, 11 large ones and 4 smaller ones. All blocks are finished. There is no pattern belonging to these blocks. On internet I found two quilts made with them, but not what I want. 
I have to do a lot of thinking !

de bakker

Het was heerlijk om weer even een weekje in Frankrijk door te brengen. Frank en ik hebben veel gedaan en af en toe zette ik wat steekjes aan de laatste stitchery van The French Collection.
Nu nog de knoopjes en dan ga ik er een quilt bij verzinnen, wat nog niet zo makkelijk is.

For a week we were in France and we had a very good time there. Frank and I did a lot and now and then I worked on my last stitchery of The French Collection.
Soon I am going to add the buttons and after that I have to design the quilt. Not an easy job.

Brocante met knoopjes

De één na laatste stitchery van "The French Collection", een stitchery uit 2007 van Robin Allen Waters, is af. Iedere keer weer een feest om als laatste de speciale knoopjes toe te voegen.
Nog één: "de bakker".

Only one stitchery to go of "The French Collection" a stitchery from 2007 design Robin Allen Waters. Each time it is so much fun to put the special buttons on.
Now on to the last one, the bakery.

Brocante zonder knoopjes

Klaar maar zonder knoopjes en omdat dat veel uitmaakt eerst maar even een foto zonder.
Het gaat echt opschieten. Straks maar eens die knoopjes ter hand nemen.

This stitchery is nearly finished. I only need to put on the buttons. That makes a difference so first a picture without them.
Later today I will put those buttons on.
