Schotse merklap

Mooi hè, deze Schotse merklap. Ik had nog geen Schotse lap in mijn verzameling.
L.M. Bateman maakte hem in 1885.
Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of Life. Dit komt uit Openbaringen 2:10.

I love this Scottish sampler. It is the first one from Scotland in my collection.

Zo, gisteren even van mijn plekje opgestaan om een foto te nemen. Helaas mis ik de dames rechts.
Het was weer gezellig op de bee. De regen weerhield niemand ervan te komen. Ik was weer even met mijn kleine blokjes bezig, wachtende op de Quiltmania.

Yesterday I left my place for a moment to take a picture. I miss the ladies on my right, sorry for that ladies.
We had a lovely time. A lot of rain outside, but who cares ? I was busy with my tiny blocks, awaiting the new Quiltmania.

En ook blok 2 is af. Nu wordt het wachten op de nieuwe Quiltmania.

Het moge duidelijk zijn, ik ben helemaal in de ban van de mystery van Quiltmania.
Wat is het ook weer leuk om met de mij zo geliefde provençaalse stoffen te werken.
Het eerste blok is af en ik heb al een klein beginnetje gemaakt met het tweede.

I also love working again with prints from the Provence.
I finished block 1 and already worked a bit on the second one.

Torrington Place (3)

Het rode gedeelte is met reverse appliqué, het blauwe (in het echt wat minder hard van kleur) met gewoon appliqueerwerk. Ik heb de smaak te pakken !

I did the red part with reverse appliqué. The blue parts (softer blue in real) are done with normal appliqué. I love working on it !

Dit kleine, fijne lapje werd begin vorige eeuw gemaakt door A.M. Zo mooi !

This little darning sampler was made by A.M. at the beginning of the 20th. century. It is so beautiful !
