het laatste huisje

Vandaag begin ik aan het laatste huisje. Nou ja, dat hoop ik. Gisteren drie tafelkleden gemaakt voor het Franse huis en vandaag nog twee. Niet mijn favoriete bezigheid, maar ook nodig.

Today I start with the last house block. Well I hope I do. Yesterday I made three tablecloths for the house in France and I intend to make two more today. Not my favorite occupation, but necessary.

Pniël

Een mooi lapje gemaakt door J.T. of I.T. in 1903.
Ik zat even met het woord Pniël. Op internet vond ik dat het staat voor "aangezicht van God". Ik denk dat het deze betekenis heeft, maar als iemand aanvullende informatie heeft graag.

I am a bit puzzled by the word Pniël.  On the internet I found that it means "face of God". I think that is the right explanation, but please let me know when you know more.

herkenning

Gisteren kocht ik na de bee bij Quiltstudio het Gooi het linker lapje. De kleur op de foto wijkt iets af met die in het echt.  Het is een stofje uit de serie Ville Fleurie by French General voor Moda.

In de winkel had ik al meteen herkenning. 

Het stofje boven rechts zit in mijn Dear Jane en is een provencaalse stof van Souleiado.

Hieronder zie je hem in een andere kleur. Ik zou haast zeggen zoek de verschillen !

Yesterday after the bee at Quiltstudio het Gooi I bought the fabric on the left. (first picture) The colors in real are a bit different. The fabric I bought is from Ville Fleurie by French General for Moda.
I knew I had seen the print before.
The fabric on the right is one from my Dear Jane. It is one from The Provence in France by Souleiado.
On the second picture the same print from Souleiado in a different color.
They are almost the same !

nog 5

Nog vijf huisjes en dan kan de rand eraan. Ik moet eerlijk zeggen dat ik bijna in de "in de hoek smijt" fase zit. Pffffff.

Only 5 houses to go and I can begin with the border. I must say that I am almost in the "throw it in the corner" stadium. 

mooi boek

Gisteren was ik even bij Atelier Steekjes en Kruisjes bij mij in het dorp. Wat hebben ze toch een leuke winkel en wat ben ik blij met dit boek !

Yesterday I visited Atelier Steekjes en Kruisjes in my own town. They have such a lovely shop and I do love this book that I bought.

stoplapje

C.v.d.L. maakte in 1926 / 1927 dit stoplapje. Helaas is de rand, die heel teer is, niet meer zoals deze moest zijn.
Het ziet er zo eenvoudig uit, maar dit is nog een hele klus voor een meisje in de leeftijd 10 à 11 jaar.

C.v.d.L. made this darning sampler in 1926 / 1927. The border, a very delicate one, is no longer in mint condition.
It looks so easy, but this is a hell of a job for someone at the age of 10 or 11 years old.

gezellig !

 Vanochtend weer even naar de inloop bee van Quilt Studio het Gooi. Erg gezellig en voor mij haast geen reistijd. Er lag weer van alles op tafel en wat een inspiratie.
De foto's zijn wat minder. Zo is foto twee een selfie. Zie je nog net een stukje van mijn bril in de rechterhoek ?
Wel weer een huisje af !

This morning I went to the bee of Quilt Studio het Gooi. Very nice and quite near to my home. I saw a lot of different works in proces and what an inspiration.
Sorry for the pictures. The second one should be a selfie. Do you see a small part of my glasses in the right corner ?
I did finish a house block !
