Katrien stuurde me dit oude boekje van DMC. Geen idee of er nog copyright op zit, dus ik laat alleen de voorkant zien, maar de inhoud is smullen.

Amineko in...

Is je Amineko af, dan is het een beetje een sport er leuke foto's mee te maken. Je kunt bijvoorbeeld je Amineko fotograferen al slapende voor de Eiffel toren. 
Een beetje lastig als je achter de naaimachine zit om wat tafelkleden in elkaar te zetten.

It is a bit of a sport to take pictures of your Amineko when visiting special places. What would you think of a sleeping cat in front of the Eiffel Tower.
A bit difficult, when you are sitting behind your sewing machine.

Amineko

Enige tijd geleden ontmoetten Josephine en ik in de winkel een Australische dame die vrouw of ze wat foto's mocht maken van haar Amineko tussen de stofjes.
We raakten met haar aan de praat en hoorden dat het patroon van deze slapende kat gratis verkrijgbaar is.
De mevrouw in kwestie zei dat ze met regelmaat een foto opstuurde naar de bedenkster van deze kat, Nekoyama, en dat er inmiddels ook een boek over is.

Mijn Amineko zag gisteren het levenslicht.

Some time ago Josephine and I met a n Australian lady in the shop. She asked us if she could take pictures of her Amineko among the fabrics.
We talked a bit with the lady and heard that the pattern is worldwide available. 
She told us also that see frequently send pictures to the designer of this cat, Nekoyama.

pronkrol P. De Groote 4

Zoals ik al zei, een korte pronkrol. Met een stukje mooi breiwerk wordt hij afgesloten.
Maar.... Het jaar daarop maakte P. De Groote nog zo'n pronkrol, ook vervat in papier en die is ook in mijn bezit.

As I said before, this long sampler is a relatively short one. It ends with beautiful knitting.
But.... The year after she made this sampler, P. De Groote made another one that is also in my possession.

Het borduren op tule fascineert me. Dat wil ik echt ooit nog eens zelf doen.

I find embroidery on tulle fascinating. I would like to do it myself one day.

Het leuke van deze pronkrol uit 1949/1950 is de kleurstelling, die uiteraard wat moderner is dan mijn oudere pronkrollen. Wel mooi, zoals die tweede kleur consequent is doorgevoerd.

You see the difference with the older long samplers. Isn't it beautiful the way they put in a second color ?

Er zijn van die dagen dat je denkt heel veel te kunnen doen en die eindigen met de zorg om anderen, omdat je in de sandwich-generatie zit.
Dat had ik gisteren.
Gelukkig heb ik dan altijd nog wat scans liggen.
Heel blij was ik een korte pronkrol te kunnen/mogen kopen die in papier is gevat. Kijk nu toch eens hoe bijzonder !!

There are days in which you think time is on your side, but those days can end different if you are in the sandwich generation.
It happened to me yesterday.
I was lucky to have made some scans of a short long sampler. I was so glad I had the opportunity to buy it !
