Er zijn van die dagen dat je liever daar zit dan hier. Niet omdat "hier" niet leuk is, maar om de rust die het "daar" uitstraalt.

There are moments you would rather be there than here. Not because you don't like it here, but it is so quiet and peaceful over there.

Het heeft iets speciaals als je schoollapjes uit de buurt kunt kopen.
Nu wil het geval dat ik niet één lapje uit Laren Nh., mijn geboorteplaats, heb en ook weinig schoollapjes uit het Gooi en omstreken.
Blij ben ik dan ook met dit schoollapje uit Muiden.

Well, I don't have any sampler made in the city where I was born, Laren Nh. and few from the places around Laren.
I was glad to be able to buy this one made in Muiden.

Maria Zemering

Naar alle waarschijnlijkheid is dit lapje gemaakt door Maria Zemering, geboren 2 augustus 1923 in Woldendorp, getrouwd in 1947 met Eggo Kok en overleden op 61 jarige leeftijd op 1 augustus 1985 in Scheemda.
Een mooi, druk lapje en ik kijk nog steeds naar randjes !

I think this sampler was made by Maria Zemering, born August 2nd 1923 in Woldendorp The Netherlands, married in 1947 with Eggo Kok and died at the age of 61 on August 1rst 1985 in Scheemda, The Netherlands.
A beautiful sampler with a lot of items and I keep looking at bands !

Hier ligt nog alles los, maar inmiddels zit de helft van de rand vast. 

On the picture you see loose parts, but at this moment half of the border is added to the quilt.

Cato

Wat een mooie combinatie van blauw en rood. Het lapje is gemaakt door Cato Blijlevens uit Geertruidenberg. Helaas heb ik geen jaartal.

A beautiful combination of blue and red. The sampler was made by Cato Blijlevens in Geertruidenberg. I do not have a date.

lapje uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog

G. Wonnink maakte dit lapje gedurende de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Mogelijk zijn de kroontjes een teken van verzet. Op schoollapjes uit die tijd zie je dat vaker. 
Mogelijk is het lapje van Gerritjen Wonnink uit 1933. Dit vond ik op het internet, maar ik ben niet zeker.

G. Wonnink made this sampler during WW2. It could be that the crowns were ment as an act of resistance. You see that more often on samplers from that period.
The sampler could be made by Gerritjen Wonnink born in 1933. I found that information on the internet, but I am not sure.
