van Haasteren: De Zeepkistenrace

In 1980 verscheen van Jan van Haasteren de eerste puzzelplaat. Dit jaar op 24 februari 2022, de 86ste verjaardag van Jan van Haasteren verscheen de 200 ste. 

Wij hadden hem al een tijdje liggen, maar hebben hem nu gelegd. Een ontzettend leuke puzzel om te leggen, 1000 stukjes in een mooie jubileumdoos met de naam "De Zeepkistenrace".

In 1980 the first puzzle with a drawing of Jan van Haasteren was issued. This year on the 86th birthday of Jan van Haasteren, February 24th. 2022, number 200 was released.

We had it in the house for some time, but now we made it. It was much fun making this puzzle. It has 1000 pieces in a special jubilee box and the name of the puzzle: 'The Soapbox Race'.

HexenCirkels week 22

Ook gisteren kon ik de lap weer buiten op de foto zetten, wat toch veel betere kleuren geeft.

114 hexagonnen erbij. Het blijft leuk om aan deze mystery te werken.

Yesterday again I could photograph te top outside. The colors are so much better this way.

I have added 114 hexagons. It is much fun working on this mystery.

Er is weer een nieuw gratis patroon van een huisje verschenen op het blog van Melisa van Pinker n Punkin Quilting & Stitching. Erg Amerikaans, maar toch wel heel erg leuk !

Deze mooie zijde geborduurde ansichtkaart werd zo'n 100 jaar geleden verstuurd voor een verjaardag.

Around 100 years ago this beautiful silk embroidered postcard was sent for a birthday.

Singer museum

Wat is het toch fijn dat we echt heel dicht bij het Singer museum wonen. Gisteren bezochten we het museum en wat heb ik genoten. Van Sluijters was ik al fan, nu ook erg onder de indruk van de schilderijen van Théo Van Rysselberghe. Een welbestede middag.

Let wel op, het museum werkt met tijdsloten.

We are so lucky to live near the Singer museum. Yesterday we visited the museum and we did enjoy ourselves very much. I was already a great admirer of Sluijters. Now I was also impressed by the works of Théo Van Rysselberghe. An afternoon well spent.

Please mind, the museum works with time slots.

lapje uit 1921

 Met regelmaat komt de stersteek voor op een schoollapje. Niet op een eerste schoollapje, maar wel op een vervolglapje.

AH maakte in 1921 dit vervolglapje. Het alfabet en de cijfers zijn in stersteek en de rest in kruissteek.

The Algerian eyelet stitch regularly appears on a school sampler. Not on a first sampler, but on a sequel. AH made this sequel in 1921. The alphabet and numbers are in the Algerian eyelet stitch. The rest was stitched in cross stitch.

1974, ik was 16

 Bij het opruimen kwam ik gisteren dit briefje tegen. In 1974 was ik 16 jaar en zat ik op het Atheneum. Een briefje als dit was heel normaal.

While cleaning up the house I found this little note written in 1974. I was 16 years of age. He asked school not to give me homework, because of my birthday.

van Haasteren: De Bibliotheek

 In het weekend hebben we De Bibliotheek van Studio Jan van Haasteren afgemaakt. Een gezellige puzzel om te maken. Onze puzzel heeft 2000 stukjes. Deze puzzel kwam in 2020 uit. 

Last weekend we finished The Library by Studio Jan van Haasteren. We loved working on it. Our version has 2000 pieces. The puzzle was released in 2020.

HexenCirkels week 21

Zondagochtend lag de lap, met de weekopdracht van zaterdag, buiten weer klaar voor de foto.

Het was een druk weekend, maar toch weer gelukt en als altijd nu weer de voorraad aanvullen.

On Sunday morning the top, including Saturdays assignment, was ready to get photographed outside.

It was a busy weekend, but I was able to finish this weeks part and now I am ready to make hexagons for my stash.

3 merklapjes uit hetzelfde gezin

Deze drie merklapjes zijn alle drie gemaakt door de familie Lobrink, maar hoe de familieverhoudingen in elkaar zitten kan ik helaas niet zeggen. Dat is niet bewaard gebleven.

These three samplers were made by the Lobrink family. I do not know there relationships. Unfortunedly that is not been saved for future generations.

Strawberry Saltbox af

Met veel plezier maakte ik het aardbeienhuisje ontwerp van Melisa van het blog Pinker n Punkin Quilting & Stitching. En als je dan een aardbeienstofje hebt liggen moet dat natuurlijk aan de achterzijde.

With lots of pleasure I stitched the Strawberry Saltbox, design by Melisa of the blog Pinker n Punkin Quilting & Stitching. In my stash I found a fabric with strawberries so look what is on the back !

Veel van dit soort zijde geborduurde ansichtkaarten werden verstuurd in en na de Eerste Wereldoorlog (1914-1918).

Deze kaart is nooit verstuurd. Er staat geen boodschap op de achterzijde.

Gezien de huidige situatie in Europa kijk je toch anders tegen deze kaart aan.

A lot of these silk embroidered postcards were sent during and after the First World War (1914-1918).

This card was never sent. There is no message on the back.

Due to the situation in Europe you look at this card in a different way.

mijn kringloop punnikklosjes

 Ik heb het er al vaker over gehad. Deze verzameling bestaat bij de gratie van de kringloop. Zou ik dat niet doen, dan had ik er nu al teveel. Ik vind het heerlijk wat rond te neuzen bij de kringloop en daar komen dan ook bijna al deze klosjes vandaan. De gemiddelde prijs is 50 eurocent. Veel plezier voor weinig geld zullen we maar zeggen.

I talked to you before about my collection of spool knitters. This collection is there because of the thrift shop. I only want to buy there, because otherwise the collection would become enormous. I love to go to a thrift shop and I almost found all spool knitters there. I bought most of them for less than a dollar. Let's call it much fun for a very small amount of money.

voortgang

 Door het vele ruimen staat het handwerken even op de tweede plaats. Toch heb ik de afgelopen dagen, avonden, de voorraad hexjes voor de HexenCirkels weer aan kunnen vullen. Het aardbeienhuisje gaat langzamer dan gedacht, maar is dat erg ?

I am doing less than normal, because of all the cleaning up. I was able to make hexagons for my stash for the HexenCircles. The strawberry saltbox is not going all that fast, but who cares ?

handwerkklas

 Mooi hè, zo'n foto van een handwerkklas uit de twintiger jaren van de vorige eeuw. Als je goed kijkt zie je dat het meisje in het midden vooraan een schoollapje in haar handen heeft.

Isn't it lovely, a classroom in the period around 1920. Have a careful look and you see that the girl on the front row in the middle is making a school sampler.

HexenCirkels week 20

Deze week kwamen er 95 hexagonnen bij en er zitten nu 2076 hexagonnen in de lap.

Het is veel werk, maar het blijft leuk !

This week I added 95 hexagons. The top now contains 2076 hexagons.

It is a lot of work, but I do like it.

zijde geborduurde kaart (39)

Veel kusjes worden in 1927 toegewenst en, de kaart wordt op 29 december verstuurd, 365 dagen van geluk. De kaart wordt verstuurd aan de peetmoeder en de peetvader.

In 1927 the sender sends lots of kisses and, the card is being send on December 29th, 365 days of happiness. The card is sent to a godmother and godfather.

opruiming !

Sinds de middelbare school verzamelde ik alles met het thema "horen, zien en zwijgen". De laatste 10 à 15 jaar kocht ik echter niets bij. Mijn aandachtsgebied heeft zich verlegd. Ik blijf een verzamelaar, maar zoek naar meer verdieping. Dat wil niet zeggen dat ik nog steeds bepaalde setjes erg leuk vind. Toch heb ik besloten het mes in deze verzameling te zetten en alleen de hele mooie en unieke stukken te bewaren.

Deze figuurtjes in Volendamse klederdracht, hoe leuk ook, gaan op zoek naar een nieuw huis.

De komende tijd is er best wel wat te vinden op Marktplaats. Mijn verkopersnaam is "annelies_van_den_bergh".

Since high school I collected everything with the theme "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil". The last 10 to 15 years, however, I bought nothing more. My focus has shifted, but I remain a collector. I do still like certain items though. Yet I have decided to put the knife in this collection and only keep the very beautiful and rare pieces. 

These figurines in costumes from Volendam, The Netherlands, are looking for a new home.

Now and in the near future there will be quite a bit to be found on Marktplaats. My seller name there is 'annelies_van_den_bergh'.

Simone's Smalls

Erg blij ben ik met het nieuwste boekje van Simone van atelier Soed Idee.  Het boekje heeft de titel Simone's Smalls. In het boekje staan allemaal kleine projecten, zoals je kunt zien op de foto die ik van de achterzijde heb gemaakt.

Erg leuk en mooie kleuren.

I am glad with the latest booklet by Simone of Atelier Soed Idee. This booklet has the title: Simone's Smalls. You find patterns for tiny projects, as you can see on the picture I took of the back of the booklet.

Very nice and beautiful colors.

Deze mooie zijde geborduurde ansichtkaart werd in 1946 verstuurd. Let ook op het bijpassend zakdoekje.

This beautiful silk embroidered postcard was sent in 1946. Do you see the matching handkerchief ?

huis in aanbouw

 Het aardbeienhuisje van Pinker n Punkin Quilting &Stitching is aanbouw. Snel gaat het niet, want ik lijk last te hebben van lentekriebels. Ik ben groot aan het ruimen. Er zijn al verschillende tassen richting kringloop. Het geeft een goed gevoel.

I am working on the Strawberry Saltbox by Pinker n Punkin Quilting & Stitching. It is not going very fast.  I seem to be suffering from spring fever. I am clearing out big. Already several bags went to the thrift shop. It gives me a good feeling.

onafgemaakt lapje

 Dit was ongetwijfeld een heel mooi lapje geworden, want wat er nu al is geborduurd is veelbelovend. Waarom de maakster er mee is gestopt zullen we nooit weten. Het jaartal 1912 staat erop, maar bij het medaillon in het midden is ze gestopt.

This would undoubtedly have become a very nice sampler, because what has already been embroidered is very promising. We will never know why the girl that stitched this sampler stopped. We know she made it in 1912, but she stopped while stitching the medallion in the center.

HexenCirkels week 19

Een foto van de hexjes buiten. Aan de binnenzijde van de grote cirkel zijn er ongeveer 100 hexjes bijgekomen. Ik denk dat we volgende week over de 2000 hexagons in totaal gaan. De mystery krijgt steeds meer vorm.

A picture of the hexagons outside. I have added around 100 new ones in the middle of the large circle. Next week the top will have more than 2000 hexagons. The mystery is gradually unraveling.

Moederdag

 Deze zijde geborduurde ansichtkaart stamt uit de periode 1920-1940. Op een waaier staat " Voor moeder's feest". Ik vind een een hele mooie kaart, ook al vieren we hier geen moederdag. Het is belangrijk iedere dag aan een ander te denken. 

This silk embroidered postcard was made around 1920 - 1940. On the fan is written " Voor moeder's feest" which means " for mother's holiday". I do like this card very much. We, as a family, don't celebrate Mother's Day. We think it is important to think about someone else every day.

Katie Anne's Saltbox

Op vakantie maakte ik ook Katie Anne's Saltbox van Pinker 'n Punkin Quilting and Stitching. Kijk ze nu eens bij elkaar staan. Te leuk !

While on vacation I also made Katie Anne's Saltbox by Pinker 'n Punkin Quilting and Stitching. Look them standing there together. Too nice !

bijzonder

Zou ik als kind blij worden van deze afbeelding ? Ik vond hem op het internet en er werd bij verteld dat het ging om een illustratie in een kinderboek. Heel leuk, zoals de vlinder op het garen zit, maar dat haar !

Being a child, would I like this picture ? I found it on the internet and was told it was an illustration for a children's book. Nice the way the butterfly sits on the yarn, but her hair !

Deze mooie zijde geborduurde ansichtkaart met een klein kaartje met daarop "Amitier" (vriendschap) werd in 1918 verstuurd ter gelegenheid van Pasen.

This beautiful silk embroidered postcard and a little card written on it "Amitier" (friendship) was sent in 1918 on the occasion of Easter.

platanen

Op verschillende plaatsen bij ons in de buurt, als we in Frankrijk zijn, zie je veel wegen met aan weerszijde platanen. Ik kan daar zo van genieten. Deze foto is van veertien dagen geleden. Inmiddels zit er al veel meer blad aan de bomen.

In several places near us, when being in France, you see roads with plane trees on both sides. I can enjoy that so much. This photo is from 14 days ago. There are now many more leaves on the trees.

van Haasteren: De Wijngaard

 Deze leuke kleurrijke puzzel van de Jan van Haasteren Studio heeft 3000 stukjes. Hij stamt uit 2019, dus nog niet zo oud. We dachten hem het weekend niet af te krijgen, maar ineens zat de vaart erin. 

This  nice colorful puzzle by the Jan van Haasteren Studio contains 3000 stukjes. It was drawn in 2019, not very old.

We didn't thought it would be a finish this weekend, but then suddenly the momentum was up !

HexenCirkels week 18

Excuses voor de slechte kwaliteit van de foto's. De eerste maakte ik op zaterdagochtend met kunstlicht en de tweede voor het raam, waarbij het licht van rechts binnenkwam. Helaas !

Het was weer een behoorlijke opdracht. Voordeel is dat het dan ook echt opschiet. 

Sorry for the bad pictures. I made the first one on Saturday morning with artificial light. The second one in front of a window. 

It was again quite a task. The advantage is that it really gets going. 

Dorothy Mae's Spring House

Ik ben helemaal in de ban van de huisjes van Melisa van Pinker 'n Punking Quilting & Stitching. Het zijn gratis patronen en ze zijn erg leuk om te maken. Het tweede huisje is dan ook een feit.

I am totally captivated by Melisa's houses of Pinker 'n Punking Quilting & Stitching. The patterns are for free and they are a lot of fun to stitch. Therefore the second house is a fact.
