Vier sterren erbij. Het is warm en ik kom tot weinig. Gelukkig wordt het de komende dagen iets koeler.

Finished four stars. It is hot and I am not doing much. Lucky for me it will be a bit less hot in the coming days.

Als quilten inderdaad een Olympische sport is dan heb ik me met "Basting - The Floor Exercise" wel gekwalificeerd.

Strawberry Manor af

Heerlijk dat ik in Frankrijk zoveel tijd had om te borduren, want ook dit huisje maakte ik daar.

Het is de Strawberry Manor ontworpen door Melisa van Pinker n Punkin Quilting & Stitching.

Een heel leuk huisje. Veel dank Melisa !

Via Facebook en Instagram bereikte me het bericht dat Bep van Atelier Bep enige tijd geleden is overleden.

Ik heb Bep ervaren als een hele lieve en bijzonder creatieve vrouw. Velen van ons hebben bij haar lapjes gekocht of een patroon van haar hand gemaakt.

Deze maakte ik enige jaren geleden en ik blijf hem leuk vinden.

I received the message via Facebook and Instagram that Bep from Atelier Bep passed away some time ago.

I experienced Bep as a very sweet and exceptionally creative woman. Many of us bought her fabrics or made a pattern of her hand.

I made this one a few years ago and still like it.

Vijf nieuwe sterren van stofjes die ik heb gekregen, in voorraad had of in Frankrijk heb gekocht.

Five new stars made out of fabric that was given to me, fabric that I had in my stash and fabric I bought in France.

Wederom een mooie zijde geborduurde ansichtkaart.

Again a beautiful silk embroidered postcard.

quilt gedubbeld

Ik heb heel hard gewerkt dit weekend. De vingerhoedjesquilt is gedubbeld en dat was veel werk.  Alles doet pijn, maar het is gebeurd ! Ik had mijn oma dat op mijn leeftijd, 66 jaar, niet zien doen.

I worked very hard this weekend. I sandwiched this quilt and it was a lot of work. 

Every muscle in my body hurts, but it is done. I don't think my grandmother could have done this at my age. (I am 66 years old)

Halloween Manor af

Als je de huisjes van Melisa van Pinker n Punkin Quilting & Stitching leuk vindt kan ik ze aanbevelen voor de vakantie. Ik maakte er drie dit keer en dit is de tweede. Het is niet de tijd van het jaar voor Halloween Manor, maar ik ben dit jaar zeker niet te laat !

If you like the houses by Melisa of Pinker n Punkin Quilting & Stitching I can advice you to take them with you on your vacation. I made three this time and this is the second one. It is not the time for Halloween Manor, but I finished it in time this year. 

Summer SAL deel 1

Ik doe mee met de Summer SAL van atelier Soed Idee. In 12 delen wordt het patroon geplaatst van een schoollapje uit 1863 gemaakt door Hendrika Gast.

Het eerste deel kwam 13 juli online en vind je hier. 

Erg leuk dat Simone dit lapje op patroon heeft gezet, dus kijk vooral ook eens rond op haar site.

voortgang sterren

Als ik de foto zo bekijk zou ik niet zeggen dat alle sterren de kleur groen in zich hebben, maar het is toch echt zo. Tijdens onze vakantie erg opgeschoten, nu nemen veel andere zaken ook tijd in.

Looking at this picture you wouldn't think that all these stars have the color green in them, but they really have. I could do so much during our vacation, but now other things take time too.

Deze zijde geborduurde ansichtkaart werd in 1932 vanuit Parijs verstuurd. In het pochetje zit een zakdoekje.

This silk embroidered postcard was sent from Paris in 1932. There is a little handkerchief in the pocket.

nieuwe sterren

Er zijn weer wat sterren bijgekomen. Ik zal ze af en toe laten zien. Stoffen zijn deels van mezelf en deels gekregen.

I made some new stars. I will show them to you in the coming weeks. Part of the fabrics are from myself, but I could also shop in the stash of friends.

Tijdens mijn vakantie natuurlijk ook wat steekjes gezet.

Vanavond speelt het Nederlands elftal de halve finale van het EK voetbal. 

Carolientje en Kareltje zijn er klaar voor !

Little Caroline and little Charles are ready for the game !

Our national flag has the colors red, white and blue and the pennant is orange. Dutch supporters often wear orange.

Olympische vlam

Daar stonden we op 20 juni s'ochtends vroeg om 8 uur om de Olympische vlam voorbij te zien komen. Het was één van de weinige dagen dat het slecht weer was. De vlam werd gedragen door de voormalig Franse atleet Hubert Valentin.

At eight o'clock in the morning on June 20th. we were there to watch the Olympic flame come by. It was one of these rare days on which we had lots of rain. This is Hubert Valentin, a former French athlete.

Frans punnikklosje

Eigenlijk mag ik van mezelf alleen maar punnikklosjes bij de kringloop kopen, maar toen ik dit oude punnikpopje op een antiekmarktje in Grignan, Frankrijk, tegenkwam, was ik verkocht.

I have restricted myself to only buying spool knitters in a thriftstore, but when I saw this one on an antique market in Grignan, France, I had to buy it.
