Ik denk dat velen van jullie inmiddels weten dat ik iets heb met het randje met de mannetjes. Als ik dan ook een lapje als dit tegenkom kan ik het echt niet laten liggen.

handwerkuurtjes

De tijd die ik dagelijks heb om te handwerken wordt op het moment gevuld met borduren.
Ik ben bezig met de randjeslap van 2015. Nieuwe randjes worden ver vooruit geborduurd en gecontroleerd met de originele lapjes erbij.
Pfff, nog niet eens op de helft.
Ach, het heeft voordelen. Je loopt je hele verzameling weer eens af en ontdekt soms ook lapjes die je allang in je bezit hebt, maar nog nooit op je blog hebt laten zien.
Dit lapje werd gemaakt op de R.K. school aan de Bierstraat. Dat denk ik tenminste, want ik kan geen plaats of achternaam vinden als ik zoek naar Bierstraa.
Veel verder kom ik niet, want er zijn meerdere plaatsen met een school die aan de Bierstraat ligt.

I am working on the "randjeslap" 2015. Before the bands are published they are made in cross stitch and put alongside the original to see if they are correct.
I am not even halfway !
It has advantages. I am going over and over all the samplers I have and sometimes I see a sampler already in my collection for a long time, but never shown on internet.
This sampler was made on a school on the Bierstraat ( translated Beerstreet). At least I think so, because I can't find a name or place when I look for Bierstraa. 
That's all I know, because there are several schools that have Bierstraat as part of there address.

Pensionaat in Zulte

Ik ben nog erg aan het hoesten, maar toch maar weer een blogje.

Dit lapje komt uit België. Het is in 1911 gemaakt in het pensionaat voor meisjes van de zusters St. Vincent de Paul door L.B. 
Op de hand veel mooier dan op deze foto.

This sampler was made in Belgium. It was made by L.B. at the sisters of Saint Vincent de Paul.
In real much more beautiful than on this picture.

Elizabeth Veen

Waarschijnlijk heeft op dit schoollapje in eerste instantie geen naam gestaan. Ik denk dat Elizabeth dat thuis heeft gedaan. Wel fijn, want nu heb ik in ieder geval een naam.
De naam Elizabeth Veen komt echter zo vaak voor, dat ik niet veel verder kom.

I think this school sampler first had no name on it. I think Elizabeth did that at home. I am glad she did it, now I at least have a name.
The name Elizabeth Veen is common, so I don't have more information.

Poesie album

 Lees ik hier gisteren toch een heel leuk stukje over een poesie album. Ja, dan kun je niet achterblijven.

Yesterday I read something about a friendship album on her blog. I couldn't stay behind.

 Mijn moeders handschrift is met de jaren wat trilleriger geworden.

My mothers hand writing isn't that good now-a-days.

 Mijn vader leeft niet meer, maar had altijd zo'n mooi handschrift.

My fathers is not with us anymore, but had a beautiful handwriting.

 Ik krijg nog steeds tranen in mijn ogen als ik het stukje van oma lees. Zo'n lieverd was het.

I still get tears in my eyes when I read the piece my grandmother wrote. She was such a nice person.

En dan al die klasgenootjes. Ik zou ze denk ik niet meer herkennen.

And all the girls at school. I wouldn't recognize them now.

bijna 100 jaar oud

Ik ben heel druk bezig met de randjes van 2015. Het patroon wordt gecontroleerd en de randjes vooruit geborduurd. Simone is hetzelfde aan het doen.
Ik kan daar nog niets van laten zien, dus weer een lapje uit mijn verzameling.
Dit lapje uit 1918, gemaakt door M. Geeraeds, is best wel gehavend. Ach, dat heeft ook weer zijn charme.

I can't show you anything new, so I show you a sampler from my collection.
This one, made in 1918 by M. Geeraerds has suffered a bit in all those years. I like it anyway.

Quiltmania, mystery quilt

Vandaag begint er op de site van Quiltmania een mystery quilt bestaande uit 20 blokken.
Ik ben nog druk met van alles bezig en weet niet of ik mee ga doen, maar ik dacht ik laat het toch even weten.
